SAXX Underwear started off asking why can’t men’s underwear be better? Their goal was to find ways to fend off the uncomfortable effects of chafing and friction with your package. SAXX re-invented men’s underwear using the following features: BallPark Pouch, Three-D Fit and Flat Out Seams. Once they have established a well known brand for their underwear, they started to explorer other types of menswear. We are reviewing a pair of training shorts with their signature Kinetic Boxers underneath all in one package.

This pair of Kinetic Train 2N1 looks like a normal pair of training shorts with a SAXX logo on the bottom left corner. The fabric is patterned, but it’s not very noticeable. They come in 3 colours, which is kinda boring – Blue, dary grey/gray and black. The waistband band is sticks out of the shorts a bit showing the SAXX logo in the front-middle of the waistband like the SAXX Kinetic Boxer briefs. These shorts also have drawstrings to pull them tighther so that you can have the right fit. The right pocket has a zipper so that you can put away your valuable stuff, while the right pocket is open for convenience. The BallPark Pouch has a highlight of orange to let you know your boys go into there. There are cases where there is a noticeable bulge in certain motions/positions.

Since these are 2N1 shorts, it’s like wearing a pair of Kinetic boxers and with a pair of lightweight shorts over them. Or wearing a pair of tights over a pair of shorts. They fit like semi-compression style liners, and it does feel tighter than wearing the Kinetic Boxers. For training, I believe you will benefits the gains of wearing tights. They definitely feel tight and the waistband is much harder to pull. If you need to take a pee, it will be much harder because there is no fly, so you will need to pull the whole pair of shorts down to go.

As SAXX is known for premium underwear, the construction of this pair of shorts is no different from other products in the SAXX family. The outer shell is made with 100% polyester and the inner Kinetic liner is made with 90% Nylon and 10% elastane. The construction is well done with seems stitch correctly with flat out seams, so that it does not creating any chafting. The material stretches very well. The pouch starts from the waist band all the way to the legs with some room between the two flaps. The mesh layer where the boys sit is made with micromesh so that the boys are going to be kept cool.

Our Views:

SAXX is a well known brand for their BallPark Pouch.  I was impressed with how SAXX BallPark Pouch, so I decided to try this pair of shorts.  The semi-compression which is exactly the same as the Kinetic Boxers works well when you are training – it keeps everything in place.  They keep your boys cool and it doesn’t move everywhere when you workout.  The shell could be better, but I would say it’s the best of SAXX in 2N1 shorts. It still has wrinkles and static and does not look as good as it could be.  Consider these as a pair of tighter Kinetic boxers with a wrap around it.

Will I buy again? YES – to replace. I would get a few more pairs if the price was slightly lower as the shell is not worth double the price of their boxers.
